Belclare were appointed to restore an existing cottage and build a new modern extension for a Dublin architect. The roof timbers were found to be past restoring and a new roof was constructed, along with new floors and windows. The walls were rendered with lime plaster. A ground source heat pump was installed to provide underfloor heating and hot water.
The modern extension was timber frame construction with cedar cladding and polished timber floors – a lovely combination of old and new.
